Anna Thomas

Journalist/ Media Specialist

Freelance journalist, producer, director, media advisor/trainer, Radio and TV presenter, public speaker & facilitator and NZ host.

Anna has spent more than 30 years in the media; radio, television and print and in the area of public relations, corporate affairs and media training.

She is a multi-skilled journalist/producer/director who continues to work in the media industry in a variety of roles while at the same time advising organisations as a media and public relations specialist. She has most recently worked for Radio New Zealand, as a senior producer, newsreader and presenter.

Anna was the lead advisor in ASEAN 40 for MFAT, media specialist for APEC 2021 and has been supporting the NZ Film Commission on a variety of projects since 2015.

From 2006 - 2015 Anna was a Media Specialist and Media Projects Manager for Tourism NZ. She was the Editor of Tourism News and in 2011 was in charge of International Broadcast Media for the Rugby World Cup. Anna assisted Tourism NZ in the marketing and promotion of The Hobbit: An unexpected journey, Pete's Dragon, Ghost in the Shell (2016), The MEG (2017), Mortal Engines (2018).

For eight years Anna reported and presented TVNZ's flagship consumer affairs series Fair Go. She also spent a year fronting and reporting on Country Calendar.

Anna has reported from the former Yugoslavia (1994 & 2002), fronted TVNZ business programme (Momentum), wrote several TV series and produced TVNZ's youth current affairs programme Flipside.

 She is currently dividing her time between Timor Leste and New Zealand.
