Indradi "Indi" Soemardjan is an innovative and highly accomplished Regional Business Developer with a strong background in sustainable agriculture, engineering, sports and the arts. An active and well-connected Senior Executive in the ASEAN and New Zealand business communities, with proven experience in international trade, operational management, sustainable agriculture, engineering and project management. As a US-educated professional, he cultivates Business Development opportunities and plans strategies to target potential customers, and understands business growth potential in the ASEAN region.
Indi is 1 of 7 Indonesians who have been awarded the New Zealand ASEAN 40th Anniversary Awards in 2015 for contributing to New Zealand’s deepening relationship with ASEAN, notably through the ASEAN Young Business Leaders Initiatives. He has also participated in the “2nd Indonesia – New Zealand 15 + 15 Dialogue”, which is one of the most important Track Two diplomacy paths organized by the Habibie Center.
He is the Treasurer for the Sustainable Coffee Platform of Indonesia, which is endorsed by the Global Coffee Platform as well as the European governments. He also sits in the Global Advisory Board of Agrea LEAF of the Philippines and also in Advisory Group of the New Zealand Asia Institute at the University of Auckland. He is also the Chairman of the Indonesia - New Zealand Friendship Council.
In relation to the arts and culture, he is also a Treasurer in the Yayasan Bina Ballet Indonesia (ballet.id), which is affiliated with world-class ballet companies from Korea, UK, France and Australia. Ballet.id has also brought classical and contemporary dance teachers from the New Zealand School of Dance to teach in Jakarta in mid 2018.
