Death of Queen Elizabeth : Asia Reacts

Queen Elizabeth, Britain's longest-reigning monarch, the nation's figurehead and a towering presence on the world stage for seven decades, died peacefully at her home in Scotland on Friday, aged 96.
India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was "pained" by the death of Queen Elizabeth, saying she would be remembered as a "stalwart of our times... She provided inspiring leadership to her nation and people. She personified dignity and decency in public life" Modi wrote on Twitter, sending his condolences to the royal family and the people of the UK.
Modi also mentioned his "memorable" meetings with the Queen in 2015 and 2018 and said he would never forget her "warmth and kindness". He mentioned a meeting when she showed him a handkerchief Mahatma Gandhi gave her on her wedding, saying he would always cherish the gesture
Japan
Prime Minister Fumio Kishida told media that Queen Elizabeth " played an extremely important role in the peace and prosperity of the world." "In 1975 she visited Japan and contributed greatly to the strengthening of Japan-Britain relations. Her death is a great loss not only to the British people, but also the international community."
China
Chinese leader Xi Jinping and his wife have sent a message of condolence to London, saying Queen Elizabeth II won wide acclaim as the longest-reigning monarch of the United Kingdom, and noting she was the first British monarch to visit China. Her passing is a great loss to the British people he said. Xi Jinping also stressed he attaches great importance to the development of China-UK relations, and is willing to work with King Charles III to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ambassadorial-level diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations,. Premier Li Keqiang has also sent a message of condolence to British Prime Minister Truss, expressing condolences on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and condolences to the Queen's relatives and the British government.
Singapore
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Lolong issued a statement saying " She performed her duties with devotion, grace and humility. Her contributions to the UK, the Commonwealth, and indeed the world will be recorded in history,. and she will always be remembered as a great world leader".
Pakistan
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told local media he was "deeply grieved at the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth". He said "Pakistan joins the UK and other Commonwealth countries in mourning her death." My heartfelt condolences to the royal family, people and government of the UK."
Taiwan
President Tsai Ing-Wen expressed " deep condolences" . Her office said " Taiwan and the UK are united in their gratitude for the Queen's lifelong contribution to world peace and prosperity. Taiwan will continue to work with the UK for common values and ideals"
Bangladesh
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina offered her "deep condolences" , and expressed her sorrw at the news via her spokesman Hasan Jahid Tusher.
