Tadashi Iwami's expertise is on international relations, security issues, foreign policy, and Japan. He is a Lecturer of International Relations at the Institute of the Pacific United (IPU) New Zealand, Palmerston North.
Iwami is also a Chair of the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs (NZIIA) Palmerston North Branch. His recent publications appear in the Asian Journal of Peacebuilding, East Asia: An International Quarterly, East Asian Policy, Routledge Handbook of Japanese Foreign Policy, and Pacific Review. He earned his PhD in Politics from the University of Otago, MA and BA Honours in Political Science from the University of Canterbury, and BA in International Relations from Nihon University, Japan.
