Paul Sinclair

Senior Fellow Centre for Strategic Studies

Paul Sinclair researches Asia security issues, maritime security in Asian Waters, and the Islamic State with specific reference to Southeast Asia. He has had more than 40 years experience working in the Ministry of Defence and for much of that time focused on international relations.

For the past 12 years of that employment, Paul headed Defence's International Relations Branch. On his retirement, he joined the Centre for Strategic Studies as a Regional security fellow with a focus on Asian security, maritime security in Asian Waters, and Islamic State with specific reference to Southeast Asia. He also managed New Zealand's participation in CSCAP. Paul is now a Senior Fellow at the Centre.
