Mark G. Rolls

Director International Relations and Security Studies Programme, University of Waikato

Dr Rolls is Director IRSS Programme and Senior Lecturer at the University of Waikato. He has an MA in Defence and Security Analysis from Lancaster University and a PhD in SE Asian Studies from the University of Hull.

He has held posts at the Institute of Southeast Studies in Singapore and was the Swan Hunter International Research Fellow at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.

He is the co-author of "Post-Cold War Security Issues in the Asia-Pacific" and the author of "The Arms Dynamic in South-East Asia During the Second Cold War" and has written multiple book chapters and articles on a range of Asia-related security issues and organisations as well as on New Zealand's relations with East and South Asia. He is a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) and a Senior Fellow of the Centre for Strategic Studies: New Zealand and has participated in many Track 1.5 and 2 dialogues for New Zealand.
