Kyle is a graduate of the University of Waikato where he obtained a Bachelor of Communication Studies and a Graduate Diploma of Teaching in Secondary. He hails from Kerikeri in Te Tai Tokerau. Being of mixed parentage, he has been fascinated by all things 'Asian' since he first visited Malaysia as a small child in 1990. Kyle has since lived and travelled extensively throughout Asia for over a decade, working as a professional educator at schools in both Malaysia and China.
He holds great interest in street photography and the history, culture, languages and food of South-East Asia, which is his favourite part of the world. Kyle has recently returned to Aotearoa and settled with his wife and son in the Far North where he teaches Social Studies, Geography and sometimes Asian Studies at a government school in Kaikohe.
