Bruno M. Shirley works on the intersection of religion, politics and gender in contemporary and historical Southern Asia, particularly Sri Lanka. He holds an MA in Religious Studies from Victoria University of Wellington and an MA in Asian Studies from Cornell University, where he is currently writing a dissertation on medieval Buddhist political thought.
